House Cleaning

Emotions, like tides roll in and out.
Like clock work, they freeze me in my tracks
But, I can't look back
Moving forward,
trying to get to the head of the pack
top dog in the Iditarod of life.

Can't be lead around by those
diggers of buried treasure!
Still wondering,
if it's my heart that has been broken,
or my Ego that has been crushed?
Knowing it's the former, not the latter,
as my Ego would never let me cry.
Like Sting tells us, "Love can mend you,
and love can break your heart."
It's time for me to mend,
my own fences, my own heart.
I hope Mick Jagger was right when he said,
"We all need someone we can lean on."
Right now, I need to lean on ME!
