Okay, this has been a work in progress for a bit. I've just finished tweaking it, and now am going to put it to music. It was a poem that turned into a song, but I'm not sure on the chorus' Any thoughts/suggustions are well appreciated. It will be done to an accoustic guitar track.
She don’t drive 55
in her car or in life
She can’t slow down,
b/c when she does she starts to cry
and I’m here for her…..
Like I always was……
And I was will be…….
She knows I’m good
But can’t let go
She’s set inside
But she always cries
As she’s looking back
To how it used to be….
And I’m here for her….
like I always was….
And I always will….
Life’s a journey not to be traveled alone
I’ll open up my arms and you can call it home
And I’m here for you….
Just like I always was….
And I always will……
Holding on and can’t let go
We’ll take our time and go real slow
Walking tall hand-in-hand
You’ll be my woman,
I’ll be your man,
And I’m here for you….
Just like I always was….
And I always will….
Sitting still I take you hand
Looking in your eyes
You’ll understand
That I’m here for you….
Like I always was….
And I always will….
B/c she can’t drive 55 in her car or in life
But if she could
She’d see right now
That I’m here for her….
Like I always was….
And I always will.

"She can't drive 55 in her car or in life" is an image with a lot of depth. It reminds me a bit of Tracy Chapman's sone "Fast Car," which I love! We do drive fast or too slow in life bever just right to save our lives. Sometimes it is the varying speed that keeps people going (or so they think). Nice piece.
